Mashrafe’s birthday today

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Bangladesh ODI team skipper, has turned 34 on Thursday.He was born in Narail district on October 5, 1983.Mashrafe, popularly regarded as the ‘Narail Express’, broke into the national team in 2001 against Zimbabwe and became an immediate sensation. Back then, he was arguably the fastest bowler for the country.

He established himself as a top sportsman despite his injury-prone career. Injury caused him to miss out on participating in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

The former T-20 captain is one of the most successful captains ever in the history of Bangladesh cricket and through his immense leadership and great bowling abilities, won his side many heroic victories, earning a place in the hearts of every cricket fan in the country.

The right-arm pacer played 36 Tests for Bangladesh, taking down 78 opposition players and as many as 232 wickets in 128 One-Day Internationals and 42 wickets in T20Is for Bangladesh.
